Nikolay M. Yanev
Nikolay M. Yanev took his Ph.D. in Probability and Statistics from Moscow State University, Russia. He is currently Professor of Probability and Statistics and Chair of the Department of Probability and Statistics at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, Bulgaria. His main field of research interests is in probability, statistics, stochastic process and their applications. Other fields include branching stochastic processes, regulation, age-dependent models, state-dependent immigration, processes with random migration, multitype process, large number of ancestors, probability of extinction, limit theorems, statistical inference, simulation and estimation, branching processes such as Mathematical Models in cell and molecular biology, cancer research and radiobiology, renewal theory and regenerative process. He is the author of over 111 published research papers and 7 books. He also holds fellowships and Membership of several professional societies including the International Statistical Institute and the Bernoulli Society and is President of the Bulgarian Statistical Society.
