Aims and Scope
Atlantis Press and Scholarpedia have agreed to publish the "Encyclopaedia of Touch", which is expected to become one of the volumes of a Scientific Encyclopaedia series entitled "Scholarpedia". Each volume in this Encyclopaedia Series treats a theme in specific, high-impact fields including physics, mathematical sciences, neuroscience, computational intelligence, dynamical systems, astrophysics, etc.
Scholarpedia (www.scholarpedia.org) is a peer-reviewed open-access encyclopedia written and maintained by scholarly experts throughout the world, including Nobel Laureates and Fields Medallists. Scholarpedia is inspired by Wikipedia and aims to complement it by providing in-depth scholarly treatments of academic topics. Scholarpedia brings together the world's most widely-
recognized subject experts to write and curate living topical reviews. Scholarpedia is written by and for scholars and scientists. Articles are updated and completed permanently, thus including the latest insights and developments.
All volumes published in this series are promoted, distributed and sold by Springer, both as e-books and in print. The volumes are also part of SpringerLink and included in the relevant Springer subject collections.
This series as a whole has as an ISSN-number, where each individual volume will have its own ISBN-number.
